The Residencia de Arte Dias D’ávila is a private center created in 2012 by the Brazilian actors Alberto Damit and Marco Antonio Lucas, dedicated to theatre and its numerous disciplines.

The center welcomes collectives of theatre and organizes the socio-cultural program « Oficina de Interpretação » which aims to offer space and training in theatre, cinema, and filmmaking to young people of the region.

The residency program is exclusively open to national artists that want to live and work in the same spot. More than 40 artists are selected each year for a three months residency organized around daily exercises and workshops with local professionals. Selected artists will be living in the principal house and have access to private studios and to the common areas. Artists are encouraged to organize workshops, conferences, performances, or publications for the local communities and particularly with the students of the socio-cultural project « Oficina de Interpretação ». Artists will be selected from their previous experience and from the study of their website, social media, and project proposal.
