The Guide des Résidences Artistiques d'Amérique latine - GRAAL - is: 600 referenced residencies in 28 countries, including 400 detailed programs with a complete description and an article presenting the general project, the residency program, the hosting conditions, the artist selection criteria and the financing arrangements.

GRAAL is divided into 10 chapters, and includes an infographic on the context of Latin American residencies, produced in partnership with the Observatoire des Résidences Artistiques, an association that studies the phenomenon of artist residencies worldwide. Artists, whether amateur or professional, will easily find the residency that best meets their expectations, as well as the institutions and resources that support cultural mobility in the region.

The main aim of this guide is to draw up a non-exhaustive list of artistic residencies in this part of the world, in order to inform artists and cultural professionals about opportunities for artistic residencies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

GRAAL, a long-term investigation of residencies in Latin America!

The Guide to Latin American Art Residencies - GRAAL - is the culmination of an investigation begun in 2017 by Alexandra Christev and Vladimir de Vaumas, co-founders of Artists In Residence Television.

The two young cultural entrepreneurs traveled to Latin America with the intention of meeting the region's residency players and offering to produce a professional presentation video report on their programs.

After three years in the field, they visited over 300 residencies in 19 countries and interviewed nearly 1,000 founders, managers and artists during their trip. On their return to France, they decided to publish a guide to all the spaces involved in artist mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean: the GRAAL.
