Piratininga is a residence of artists dedicated to engravings, drawings, and serigraphy located in Sao Paulo and created in 1993.

« The workshop is 25 years old, and we have here the space for people to develop their work. It is a collective self-managed space. We have the professional space to do any engraving work and we are open to residents who can come and work with us », indicates Pedro Pessoa, artist, and coordinator of Piratininga.

The residency program welcomes up to ten artists each year, for a period varying from a week to a month, and immerse them in Vila Madalena, the artistic neighborhood of Sao Paulo.

« The Piratininga workshop is more than a simple art workshop, but a space for practices and coexistence {…} a space to share experiences of artists from São Paulo and from all over », comments Rafael Kenji, artist, and coordinator of the space.
