Residencia Corazón
Residencia Corazón is an artistic space founded in 2006 and directed by Rodrigo Mirto and Juan Pablo Ferrer in the city of La Plata, known as the "City of Diagonals" and with a strong artistic imprint due to the number of spaces and its University.
Pioneers in Argentina, the residency program is dedicated to the visual arts and welcomes only emerging and established international artists, but also curators, actors, writers and creative minds from all disciplines to experience Argentina's art scene for one to three months.
"We actually have two residency programs, one that can be with a final exhibition and the other that is more about research and project development. But in general, it is a very personalized residency where we evaluate the artistic project,” explains Juan Pablo Ferrer.
Resident artists will have shared or private rooms and adapted workspaces and will have the opportunity to get to know the local art scene.
"We have links to many cultural spaces, including museums and public places. We offer the artist from the stay, accommodation to the production and pre-production of their work. The program also includes curatorship, in which the artist meets weekly with his or her curator for close monitoring of the project they come to realize," says Rodrigo Mirto.
With more than 15 years of experience and activities, Residencia Corazón is an incredible place for an authentic immersion in the Argentinian culture.
"They offer a lot of support, they are very kind, they are always checking if we need anything and, I don't know, it's a lovely place, I recommend it," adds Malu Porto, former writer in residence.
