Residencia Artística Rural ACCIONArar
ACCIONArar is a rural domestic project created in 2013 by the Colombian artist Tzitzi Thlini Barrantes in the countryside of Bogota.
The initiative aims to be a space for artistic coexistence and practice sharing in the fields of performing arts, agriculture, and gastronomy.
The house is based on five acres of land with vegetable gardens and direct access to a luxurious flora and fauna. The project invites its participants to reflect on their own practices, share insights on the investigation and production processes, and create workshops and artistic actions in the region. ACCIONArar has become a recognized meeting point for creative minds who want to contribute to the creation of a network that promotes locally and internationally the dissemination of art, healthy ways of life, and environmental awareness.
The residency program is self-directed and open to students, young and emerging artists, and is also trans-disciplinary. The program occurs four times a year and welcome three artists at the same time for a week-long residency during which they are given private or shared rooms in comfortable pet friendly houses. They will also have access to a library, common areas equipped with a wood stove, and they’ll receive mentoring and assistance on their projects. Artists will also have the opportunity to participate in collective workshops led by specially invited professionals and the results may be exhibited in cultural spaces in Anolaima and Bogota. During their stay, artists can as well organize workshops, classes, expeditions, open-studios, or performances for the local communities of Cundinamarca.
