Centro de Creación y Residencia NAVE
NAVE is a private creative center that aims to support artistic creation around dance, live arts, and performing arts.
Created in 2015 by María José Cifuentes, María Angélica Vial, and Javiera Peón-Veiga, NAVE works at a multidisciplinary level, inviting dancers, performers, theater troops, and audiovisual artists, that have strong projects related to the body’s movement. Nowadays, NAVE is a well-recognized center on the national and international level for its co-production platform and the visibility given to the supported projects.
NAVE’s residency offers emerging artists the opportunity to live and work on-site in a cutting edge space specially built for live art disciplines, where they’ll receive the mentoring of the center’s staff in terms of production, techniques, and communication. Artists can apply for a two to four weeks stay, during which they’ll have a shared room with another resident, a shared studio with a dance floor, and a stage for their practices. The program is research-oriented and does not imply results at the end of the residency. However, the residents are encouraged to give workshops, conferences, performances, or engage with the community, depending on the projects, the profile, and the interests of the artists.
The residency program is open to national and international artists, in addition to work closely with other cross-residencies in Italia, Spain, France, Greece, Switzerland, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Portugal. With one open-call every year, artists may apply by sending their Curriculum Vitae, a project proposal, and can add a video of their achievements.
